How to choose laboratory-grown diamond earrings
Earrings are the piece people wear most and think about least. A good pair goes with everything for years, so it is worth getting three things right: the style, the size, and how they sit on the ear.

How to choose an engagement ring in India
Most people buy one engagement ring in their life, and most of the advice they find is written to sell them a bigger one. This is the order we would choose in ourselves, as jewellers in Surat who make these rings every week.

Laboratory-grown or mined diamond: what is actually different
Every stone on this website is a laboratory-grown diamond or a moissanite. Mined diamonds are available on enquiry. So we sell both kinds of diamond, and we have no reason to talk you out of either. Here are the differences that matter, and the ones that don't.

Buying from India: delivery abroad, with duties included
Most of the people who write to us from abroad ask the same thing before anything else: what will it cost by the time it reaches me? The honest answer is the price on the page plus one flat delivery charge, and nothing more at the door. Here is how that works, and what else to know when you buy from India.

Working with a laboratory-grown diamond jewellery manufacturer in Surat
If you sell jewellery and want laboratory-grown diamond pieces made for you, the first decision is who actually makes them. Many suppliers buy finished pieces from someone else and resell them; a manufacturer draws, casts and sets the piece in its own workshop. That difference decides how much you can change, how quickly a question gets a straight answer, and who stands behind the quality.

How to care for laboratory-grown diamond and moissanite jewellery
A laboratory-grown diamond is diamond all the way through: the same carbon, the same hardness, the same sparkle as one that was mined. Moissanite is nearly as hard. Neither stone needs special treatment. What a piece needs is looking after the metal it is set in and the tiny prongs that hold the stones, and keeping the stones clean enough to let the light in.

Eternity rings and bands: full, half and five-stone, and how each wears
An eternity ring is a band set with a line of matching stones. The unbroken line is where the name comes from, and why it has long been given for anniversaries, the birth of a child, or worn beside an engagement ring as a wedding band. The choice that matters most is how far the stones go round, because it decides how the ring feels, how it is sized, and what can be done to it later.

Oval, emerald, pear or radiant: choosing a stone shape
Shape is the first thing anyone notices about a ring, and the one decision that is almost entirely about taste. It does have practical consequences, though: two stones of the same weight can look quite different in size, and some shapes ask more of their setting than others.

How to find your ring size at home
Every VIBHINI ring is made in US size 6.5 unless you ask for another size, which we make on request and quote separately. Either way, it is worth knowing your size before you order. You can measure at home in two minutes, and we check your answer before anything is made.

9K, 10K, 14K or 18K gold: which is right for you
Pure gold is too soft to hold a stone. Every piece of gold jewellery is an alloy: gold mixed with other metals for strength and colour. The karat number tells you how much of that mix is gold, and it is the biggest decision you make on a VIBHINI piece after the stone.

Every VIBHINI design is offered with a laboratory-grown diamond or with moissanite, in the same metals, at two different prices. People ask us which one to pick almost every day, so here is the plain answer, without selling you either.

Made to order: how it works, and how long it takes
Nothing in our workshop is made before someone chooses it. That is not a slogan about exclusivity; it is how the business is built. You pick the design, the metal, the colour, the stone and the size, and the piece is made for that order. Here is exactly what happens, and when.

Choosing a pendant for a mangalsutra
A mangalsutra is worn more than any other piece of jewellery a woman owns: every day, through work, cooking, sleep and travel. The pendant on it therefore has to meet a standard almost nothing else in a jewellery box has to meet. Style comes second to that, and the good news is you don't have to give up much of it.

Hidden halo, side stones or three stone: settings explained
The setting is the part of a ring people describe badly and choose quickly. It decides how big the stone looks, how much light reaches it, how the ring behaves against a jumper, and a fair part of what it costs. Here is what each of the common ones does.

Rhodium-plated or gold-plated silver: how each wears
Silver is where most people start, and there is nothing second-rate about it: the stone is the same, the setting is done by the same hands, the design is the same. What differs is the metal, and a plated finish behaves differently from solid gold. It is worth knowing how before you choose it.

What an IGI report shows
A gem report is a stranger's opinion of your stone, written by people with no stake in the sale. That is the whole point of it. Here is what one actually says, and how to check that the one in your box is real.

What decides the price of a laboratory-grown diamond ring
Most jewellery is priced behind a curtain. You are shown one number, and told it is a good deal. A ring's price is really four numbers added together, and once you can see them, comparing two jewellers becomes straightforward. Here is how ours is built.
